Nanny in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hello, my name is Megan and in a few short weeks I will be moving to Vancouver, BC. I am looking for full-time work as a nanny or child-caregiver. I graduated from Acadia University in 2014 with a bachelor of arts in Environmental and Sustainability Studies with a minor in Sociology. Although I enjoyed time my there, I didn't fall in love with the program I chose. Next September I will be taking my Bachelor of Social Work, which is what I feel I was meant to do. Over the past couple years I have been working extensively with children with Autism through volunteering, respite, and working at a summer camp specifically for kids and adults with Autism. With my clients I would work and improve their behavioural, social and cognitive skills with the help of my mentors. My mentors, an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and recreational therapist has taught me the knowledge and skills that I was able transfer to the children I was working with. Working with kids with Autism has given me patience, the ability to always be thinking three steps ahead, and how to enjoy the simple things in life. These past few months I have been working full-time with my clients and I am feeling a bit drained. I am looking to take a step back from working with Autism as I rediscover what I first loved about children - their expanding mind, curiosity, and imagination.
