Nanny in Brandon, Manitoba

My name is Kyra and I was born in Brandon, but raised in a small town near Hamburg, Germany. I was raised bilingual, being fluent in English and German, as my father is Canadian and my mother German. After completing my High School degree I went back to Germany and assisted my parents in raising my youngest brother. In total I have three younger siblings. You might have even come across my sister on this website ;) I have been living on and off in Brandon for the past 10 years now. I wanted to get to know the other “half” of me and what it was like actually living in the country most of my family was from and not just visiting. Furthermore, I would like to tell you about my experiences with children. As previously mentioned, I have two younger brothers and one younger sister. My youngest brother was born when I was already 12 years old, so I helped my mom out a lot when he was still a baby and a toddler, putting him to bed, changing his diapers, looking after him in the afternoon, reading him stories, and so on. I also babysat several of my younger cousins and had a few babysitting jobs when I first came to Canada, while in High School. I babysat children from the ages of 1 to 8 years, sometimes slightly older or younger than that. I just finished my university term at BU, thus I haven’t had a nannying/babysitting position in quite some time now. Working with children has always been a joy for me. Being on the autistic spectrum myself, I find it is almost easier to communicate and bond with little ones, who say what they mean and mean what they say. Feeling safe, loved and cared for is the base minimum of what I strive to provide for your children while you are busy or away.
