Resume Summary: Hi there my name is Kimberly. I am a 30 year old mother to an amazing daughter who turns 3 in March! I am seeking an opportunity to provide child care within the Beaverbank, Sackville, Bedford, Nova Scotia communities. I am available as required as I am a stay at home mother! Services And Training: I have a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) from Dalhousie University, with a major in Recreational Therapy (RT). RT provided me with education and the opportunity to work with those in minorities, those with mental illness, and those with extra inclusive needs due to intellectual/physical disabilities. I have First Aid and CPR-C training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, Food Safety Course, and WHIMS. I can take care of transport to and from extracurriculars as I have an SUV and a valid drivers license. No criminal record. I can also provide help with homework and duties such as cleaning/cooking. Regarding previous experience, I was an Au Pair in Madrid, Spain on a 3-month contract from May 2017-July 2017. There in Madrid, I worked with children ages 8-13 years old as both a care giver and English/Math teacher. I also worked with Halifax Recreation within the Inclusion support unit for Summer camps at the Captain William Spry Centre in 2019. There I worked worked with children ages 5-13 with intellectual/physical disabilities, from Chisholm House, and Refugees. During Covid while I was pregnant with my daughter, I worked as a Nanny for a professor at Dalhousie, where I worked with his 7 year old daughter whom he felt was autistic but was not clinically diagnosed yet. We worked on her social cues, social anxiety, and we worked on her math and science homework together. Moreover, I was simply someone she could use for emotional support as her parents were so busy. Activities to help her socially were things such as taking her to the library, public gardens, parks, etc. I have not worked since that last job in 2020 due to having my child.
