Hello, my name is Nancy and I am 36 years old. 2016 has been a big year for me. It first began after having to put my son into a daycare when my maternity leave ended. Before my pregnancy, I always thought about going back to school, and getting my license, but never felt I could achieve some of my goals. All my life, I worked hard and was feeling as though it was getting me nowhere. Living cheque to cheque, sore all night after, dreading going into work the next day. So i decided if I couldn't stay at home with my son I may as well give this school thought a try. I enrolled and got in Nov. 2015 found a day home for my son. I was not entirely sure if I was comfortable leaving him with the caregivers I had chosen. I had no experience, as he is my only son and not too many referrals. A few months went by and I could tell neither my son or I were happy. The caregivers, were nice people but they were not what my son needed. I was relieved when the daycare Play and Discovery Early Learning Center finally had an opening for him. To this day my son loves it there. I graduated, I will receive my diploma in June of 2017 cap and gown and all. (how exciting) and I got my license in the summer of 2016. Come April 13th 2017, I will have my Level 1 ECE certificate and really excited to explore in this new wonder. My son sadly will be leaving his daycare at the end of April. Ultimately, I would like to find an opportunity to work with my son until he joins pre - k. Needless to say it has been a very busy couple of years.
