Nanny Job in West Vancouver, British Columbia

Our twins are really easy-going (others else tell us this - it's not just our biased perspective!) They are delightful and such fun - I've loved every minute of having them. We have an almost 12 year old son who is like an adult and is extremely helpful around the house and with the twins. We are a very close family who spend a lot of time together. Michael and I, both educators, run, ski, hike; Cameron is passionate about baseball and our twins are just busy growing! We are an adventurous, outdoors family who live in a stunning beachside community in a beautiful home just outside Vancouver. Our family comprises me, Elizabeth, my husband, Michael, our 12 year old son, Cameron who does not require any care and boy/girl twins Sebastian and Madeleine who will require care - and who will be 16 months old from when we require a carer the beginning of October. As educators we have ample holidays and travel extensively. We hike, bike, ski, run, and enjoy the exquisite outdoors surrounding our home. The carer's day would start around 7.30-8am with breaks in-between mid-morning and mid-afternoon when the twins sleep (around 3 hours in total). The main task is to mind the twins - feeding, changing nappies and taking them on outings - to Strong Start toddlers programme, walks in our beautiful local area, West Van library where they have programmes for toddlers and our local moms and tots group in Lion's Bay. They are exceptionally easy-going, placid children. Someone who has some French would be an advantage - but is not a pre-requisite - as the twins will attend a French Immersion school when they are older. Household tasks - vacuuming, dusting, helping keeping the kitchen in order - and some laundry would be part of the tasks expected to be undertaken. Some cooking would be appreciated but is not essential. Our household is well organized. Our modern open-plan home is beautiful with panoramic ocean views from every window. We have patio space in the summer and a roaring log fire in the winter. A live out position or live in position is possible. The carer's bedroom is beautifully appointed with views over Howe Sound.
