Bethel Park Kids Camp - I was a counsellor in training for 4 consecutive years and then a counsellor for two consecutive years during the week-long overnight Bethel Park Kids Camp from 2008-201.... My duties including supervising and participating in activities with the children (aged 6-13), organizing daily devotionals, being on the night watch team, and making myself available to listen and build relationships with my campers. Home Town Hockey Camp Instructor - After volunteering with Home Town Hockey for the summer in 2009 and 2010, I was asked to become a full time summer instructor for children ages 6 to 14 during the summer of 2011. I was responsible for organizing and running an outdoor fitness program for the children. This experience also included: teaching specific hockey skills, working with small groups of children during outdoor activities, working with other instructors and helping children with simple needs, such as tying skates or taping hockey sticks. Special Olympics Ontario Coach - I volunteered with Special Olympics Ontario during the school year in of 2011/201... as a coach. My responsibilities including teaching special needs students (aged 12-18) specific skills in order to play various sports, interacting enthusiastically with students, and providing and safe and comfortable environment for both students and volunteers. This experience taught me the importance of sports and athletics in teaching simple lessons such as team work, following instructions and discipline. Nanny – The summer of 2013, I worked as a full-time, live in nanny from May to August. Responsibilities included caring for two children aged 1 and 3, preparing all meals, organizing activities and also doing household chores such as laundry and some cleaning.
