Hello, My name is Kaitlyn, I am 31 years old and absolutely adore children. I’m currently on maternity leave with my beautiful 2 month old daughter. I thought in the meantime That I would update my profile and casually start looking for a position to start around August/September of 2024. That being said, I would not be opposed to work the occasional day here and there until then. I have many years of experience within the different fields of childcare. I started babysitting as most do, fell in love and went from there. I have been a camp counsellor, emergent learning facilitator, child development worker, child development specialist, nanny and respite care. I honestly do not see myself ever working outside the scope of childcare. I currently have my CDW (Level 2) and plan to complete my level 3 in the near future. Meaningful planning is so important to me, as to allow the child(ren) a fun and educational way to explore, learn, play and develop. I have my first aid certification, criminal and intervention checks, and my CDW. I have been to many professional development courses (as you can always learn something new), and I even know some sign language. I’m not just looking to be a babysitter but looking to become a member of the family as well! Once you see my caring attitude towards you and your children, you will have no choice but to think of me as family! Haha. I currently reside in Silverado and I am hoping for a position close to me or within a reasonable distance. I should also add Im allergic to some dogs and all cats. So well it may work if you have a dog(s), if you have cats unfortunately it will not work. My wage is dependent on a few things! I recently worked with Kaitlyn at the emergency shelter in the child support program, working with kiddos from 0-6 years old. She was incredible with the kids as well as the moms who accessed our program. Kaitlyn's ability to prioritize, multi-task and to lead by example, allowed her to flourish in this child support worker role. Her responsibilities in this program included following trauma informed care, providing a safe and positive environment, completing administrative duties like attendance, registration, incident reports, etc., ensuring licensing requirements were followed, engaging with children in child-centered activities, assisting children in using the toilet or diaper changing, feeding and preparing formula or snacks, and building strong relationships with both moms and children staying in the shelter. Kaitlyn is clearly passionate about her work and a colleague I highly recommend to future families!
