Help! Potty Training!

The other day, we received an email from a nanny in Calgary. Do you have any advice for her?
I care for a 2.5 year old boy, and have been caring for him for about 8 months. When I was hired, the parents said they had plans to potty train him by age 2, but they haven't started yet. He's showing signs that he's ready, but when I try to talk to the parents about it, they don't seem to care!
