The Stop Feeding Off Kids Campaign is about restricting the commercial marketing of foods and beverages to children.  

Children are very impressionable, and their choices are influenced greatly by the media.  Large marketing companies are able to use our children to sell products, but they usually don't have our children's best interests at heart.  More than 31% of children are overweight or obese, and being overweight puts a person at risk for heart disease and stoke among other chronic diseases.

Children are exposed to media now more that ever before, as this is the generation that has never known a world without technology such as the internet, cell phones, or ipods.

Overall, Canadian children are making poor choices and consuming mostly food high in sugar, fat, and salt, but low in vegetables and fruits.

We would like to encourage our readers to sign the campaign for restricting marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to children, and help kids form better eating habits that they can carry on later in life.
