Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

I am an English teacher by profession and currently pursuing my masters degree in Educational Studies at UBC. I am from Turkey and I am fluent in both Turkish and English. I have always worked with young adults but I love spending time with kids. Being from Turkey, where community is the strongest social unit, I got to look after our neighbor's kids as well as my own nephews and nieces. I am a good story teller and I like being creative with kids. I understand and respect different parenting styles and wouldn't have a problem following what is being asked from me. I haven't professionally worked with kids but I volunteered in Richmond, VA at YMCA after school care facility as a Fulbright scholar in the US. The program aimed at helping school children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds to develop healthy eating habits and maintain a level of fitness and overall wellbeing. That was a very rewarding experience to be a part of this program and it made me want to go back to working with kids.
