Experienced, Canadian nanny available for single family position or nanny-sharing

Nanny in Vancouver

Hi ! I am an experienced, gentle, loving, and dedicated Canadian career-nanny interested in providing private care with traveling families or nanny-sharing. I have more than 10 years of solid nanny experience within private residence here in Vancouver ( with children aged 5 months -12 years old ) and more than a full year of experience caring for multiple infants/toddlers in a nanny-share position. With my current 1 year contract coming to a close, I would like to start interviewing with interested families needing care to begin sometime after August 1st, 2017. I would love to hear from families needing 4 or 5 days of care each week ( 8-9 hour days ) for their children aged 12 months at our decided start date. Long term would be ideal. My longest position within a family has been 9 and 1/2 years and I still provide occasional care to their child. It would be wonderful to find another family or families interested in a long-term relationship. My requirements: I require a minimum of 32 paid hours each week between the hours of 8:30am and 6:00pm. ( I'm flexible with staying late and coming early on occasion) I'm seeking a position located between Sounth Granville and Fraser Street in Vancouver, including Fairview, False creek, Yaletown, Olympic villiage, City Hall, and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods. My background: I was born here in Vancouver and grew up on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of B.C. Please contact me for a full description of my education and child care related experience. In the past, I've completed classes and workshops in early childhood development, positive discipline, nutrition, group facilitation, business and mixed media art. I continue to update my training and educate myself to provide quality care. My personal interests: I love my pets, family, friends, art, literature, film, photography, travel, music and crafting. I am currently learning violin and furthering my sewing skills. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering my time to various causes, fundraising, providing support within the nanny community events and attending community arts events. I'm fairly active. I love walking, and yoga... and hope to do more biking this year on the trail near my house. GOALS! My values as a caregiver: I make meeting children's physical, emotional, and social needs, top priority. We leave the house everyday for age appropriate activities. I value both structured and unstructured play at local parks and community centres, family place, strong start and locations such as science world. We regularily attend story times, and enjoy play dates with children close In age for social growth and support. We laugh, share and learn together as a team. It is a joy to see young children thrive under my care. About myself and my strengths: I'm a very creative, energetic, and conscientious caregiver. I take pride in my ability to care, nurture, structure and role model. My strengths include, organized care, consistant expectations around behaviour and safety, documentation, maintaining healthy sleep, eating, and activity routines, fostering social skills, maintaining a safe care environment, development of social skills, independence, creativity, verbal articulation and an appreciation for the natural world. I'm cheerful, artistic, thoughtful and serious about my work. I'm seeking considerate employers that can commit to consistant hours. I work within a signed and detailed contract for a minimum of 1 year. My employers will be responsible for payroll and deductions and providing me with an annual, T4 as dictated by the B.C. Standards act and the CRA. I come with several excellent references ( given only upon interview out of respect for the privacy of past employers ) I CAN however, submit reference letters at ANY time. I also have up-to-date CPR and first aid training: child care level through the West Coast Child Care Resource Centre and a clear criminal background check to provide. I don't drive, but I am extremely independent and confident in transporting children on public transit to all of our scheduled activities. My fee is between $13 and $20 per hour. My fee for nanny-sharing is $13 an hour per family and includes basic duties related to child-care: Duties unrelated to childcare can be negotiated. I charge $20 an hour for private care within a single family home ( duties and any travel to be negotiated ) Duties outside of child-care could include: pet care, pet sitting, home care, house sitting, plant care, laundry, organization, supervision of home maintainance workers, party planning, decorating, hosting and clean up, errands, gift purchasing and wrapping. I look forward to hearing from all interested families. Thank-you.
