Nanny in Stoney Creek
As a teacher I believe that learning the ABCs and 1 2 3s are important tools for all children. However, as an early childhood educator I think the most important thing a young child needs to learn is that they are safe and loved. Children also need to know how to learn and how to communicate, and I believe that one of the most important aspects of my role as a childcare provider is to encourage the growth of these major developments. In order to accomplish this, I use a multi-interactional approach which includes plenty of hugs, reading, and singing to the child. I believe in speaking to a child so they feel important, and I encourage them to explore their world and express their thoughts and feelings. I try to make every experience a learning experience. Children can learn from simple everyday life activities that we take for granted such as taking a bus or going for walks. I encourage children to ask why? and I do my best to answer each question. I also believe that it is my job to ensure that children learn to be independent, so that they can grow into healthy adults. I have 14 years of experience working with children in all kinds of settings. The best experience has been as a mother, to my two wonderful children (a boy age 3.5 years and a girl 1 year). For the last three years I have run a successful home daycare, watching up to 5 children ranging in age from 0-9. I also have experience working as an elementary school teacher, as a daycare worker (in a daycare setting), and as a nanny.
