As a student in my final term of university, my course load is light and mainly online. For this reason I would love to spend my days with children in a fun, nurturing, and positive environment which I have had a geat deal of experience doing. Working with kids is something I am passionate about and enjoy immensely. I can guarantee I will provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for your children. I have spent my summers planning programs for young children and because of this have endless amounts of games and fun activities for children to enjoy. I am a responsible 21 year old with extremely flexible hours and would love to get a chance to work for your family! July-August Boulevard Club- Camp Counsellor-Toronto, Ontario 2013 Planned and executed programming at a day camp for children aged 5-9. Teamwork and a positive attitude were vital requirements. Summers Camp Ekon, Camp Counsellor – Muskoka, Ontario 2007-201... Responsible for organizing activities for children ages 7-15. Included structured leadership exercises. Participation in staff community, helping with site maintenance and meal preparation when necessary. Leading canoe trips of one-two week’s duration in Algonquin Park. Throughout highschool I babysat regularly for families in the neighbourhood. I am looking for a job that will allow me to work with children in a positive and nurturing environment as well as develop a new skill set and I feel a position with your company will provide an excellent opportunity for me to do so. For three summers I worked at an overnight children’s camp in Muskoka, Ontario. Working outdoors in a group situation, coupled with the first aid training I’ve received, have taught me to adapt to changing circumstances, to work with whatever I have on hand when the situation demands it, and to respond quickly and calmly in a variety of situations. Leading children on two week camping/canoeing trips in Algonquin Park has fostered a love of the Canadian outdoors and a desire to see more of what our country has to offer. There is a great reward in providing children and teenagers with a secure, vibrant, safe place, while at the same time fostering relationships and encouraging each individuals’ positive growth and development. In addition, having multiple children in my care has taught me how to multi-task and to deal with many high pressure situations. Working as a camp counselor provided me with leadership skills and the ability to build relationships in an environment composed of peers, youth and superiors.
