As a student in my final term of university, my course load is light and mainly online. For this reason I would love to spend my days with children in a fun, nurturing, and positive environment which I have had a geat deal of experience doing. Leading children on two week camping/canoeing trips in Algonquin Park has fostered a love of the Canadian outdoors and a desire to see more of what our country has to offer. There is a great reward in providing children and teenagers with a secure, vibrant, safe place, while at the same time fostering relationships and encouraging each individuals’ positive growth and development. In addition, having multiple children in my care has taught me how to multi-task and to deal with many high pressure situations. Working as a camp counselor provided me with leadership skills and the ability to build relationships in an environment composed of peers, youth and superiors.
