Nanny Job in Calgary, Alberta

We are looking for someone to help us part time (~30 hrs/week) starting in June. Willing to provide full time hours to the right candidate (especially if you are open to helping with more things such as light housekeeping and light gardening). We currently have a wonderful nanny who has been with us for a year and a half (currently working 28hrs/week), but will be graduating from her program in June and starting work in her new field. We are flexible as to what the arrangement looks like; whether 4-5 hours daily for ~5 days a week, or 6-8 hours for 3-4 days per week. We are flexible as to whether this is weekday or weekend hours, and also flexible in regards to the time of day. We are looking for a fun-oriented and outdoor-loving individual to help us with daily tasks such as: - watching all 3 kids for short periods of time while mom works on business or goes for a run - "Divide & conquer" with mom (many activities are not suitable for all 3 kids) - helping with housework such as tidying up after kid activities, doing the dishes, folding the laundry, or keeping the toy room/ kid art supplies organized - watching the kids for an occasional evening while mom & dad go on a date (max once a week) - watching the kids for an occasional weekend (max once every 4 months) *Optional but interest in this opportunity would be an asset - opportunity to join us on family vacations (ski trips, etc.; open to discussion) Our ideal nanny is someone who is always willing to take the kids outside (regardless of the weather), or build a blanket fort AND clean it up afterwards. Someone who likes to read stories, come up with fun crafts, build lego or puzzles, play hide-and-seek or help the kids ride their bikes. Our older children are very energetic and busy; always on the move! We do very little screen-time in our house, and as a general rule, not when we have childcare. We have two cats, a modest-sized house close to downtown (and lots of parks), and a very large garden full of flowers and vegetables in the summer. We are walking distance from almost everything (including the science centre, the river and the zoo) and therefore we drive in the city very little (and would not expect you to drive the children places). We love nature and the mountains and would love someone who is willing to accompany mom & kids for short hikes or other excursions. Dad works full time outside the home, and mom works part time from home (I own a small home-based gardening education business, which is busiest from March to September). A little bit more about us as a family: - we like to live simply and try to buy very little. We like to reduce our waste and our environmental footprint. We compost, grow a lot of our food, and reduce/ re-use & recycle. - we are very passionate about food; we like to support local farmers and we eat seasonally, locally, and make all our food from scratch (we rarely buy packaged or pre-made food). We are adventurous eaters and enjoy trying new foods of all cuisines. Our kids are good eaters and this is important to us. - we love the outdoors. Before kids we did all sorts of back-country adventures! Now we are working to nurture the same love of the outdoors in our kids by getting them outside often; hiking, camping, bike riding and skiing.
