Nanny in Hamilton, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello! My name is Kerri, and I am an RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator), Nanny, Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), and CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician, aka Car Seat tech). I adore all children, and have had plenty experience with children of ALL ages (birth to young teens). I am a full time Nanny to an amazing family during the day, and a few families occasionally in the evenings/on the weekends to fill up my week. ** Fully vaccinated, including covid booster shot. ** As an RECE, I enjoyed teaching toddlers and preschoolers at a wonderful private school for a few years before focusing on my strengths becoming a Nanny. I adore my job, and treat all my little ones as if they were my own. When you love what you do, it is never truly "work". I have my own car, my own carseats, am up to date and CPR certified (recertification was done July 2022, and completed an infant specific CPR workshop in January 2017), I have my Food Handlers Certificate (it has now lapsed with Covid, and wasn't an "essential" need but I would like to get it again asap), as well as many other qualifications - we can discuss them if you would like to hear more. My most current police check is from May 2021. I have had exposure to other languages (Urdu, French, Arabic, ASL), but do not speak them - mostly key words spoken by toddlers to help with learning English. As a Nanny and an RECE, my favourite age is newborn to 3, because that is the most crazy, but also the most fun! I enjoy taking outings outside, exploring, getting dirty, teaching social skills and basic age appropriate academics, as well as have fun! I am beginning to read up on a lot of RIE principles and am really enjoying it - basically it is about respectful parenting and allowing your children space to explore. I am Montessori trained as well, and enjoy teaching autonomy and independence in toddlers and preschoolers. Seeing the little "light bulb" moments, and "I did it!" moments make my heart happy. There are pros and cons to each type of curriculum, and I have found in my experience, that most children function best in a blended curriculum. *** What I am looking for are more families to build up my NCS portfolio! Being a natural night owl, I am at my best overnight. As an NCS, I would be at your house overnight to support you and your new baby/babies through the first few weeks and months of baby's life. Typically it is a short term contract until they are either sleeping through or waking only once through the night. Together, we can customize a plan that works best for you and your little one(s). Do you want to breastfeed or cosleep? Do you want help getting them on a schedule? Laundry/dishes and quiet chores can be added in to help give you piece of mind - depending on layout of the house of course! Moms/parents are ready to tackle the daytime and other siblings when they are freshly rested and at their best too. Everyone wins! *** Days, pay, duties etc can be negotiated on a case by case basis. I can be reached by email or by cell phone at any time. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you, and have a great day. Kerri

I have been blessed to have Kerri in mine and my children's lives. My Children absolutely adore Kerri, when picking them up from school the kids teachers know she's there by the squeals of "MY KERRI!!!!!!!" I have had friends ask where they could get their own Kerri. I would love to be able to pay Kerri to take care of my kids full time.

Kerri was the primary ECE for my son from ages 18 months to 36 months. The soft skills which Kerri possesses - caring, consideration, dedication, appreciation, approachability, communication and sense of fun - are vital to being a successful caregiver. It was evident that Kerri had a genuine bond with the children in her care, and my son ADORED her, calling her "My Kerri." As a parent, I appreciated that Kerri was always very approachable with excellent communication, sharing the humourous and anecdotal stories of my son, not just the standard mealtime/outdoor time report. It was evident that Kerri truly enjoys children and appreciates every stage of their developing personalities. She finds humour even while dealing with their more difficult and challenging behaviours. I am thankful that my son had Kerri as one of his childcare providers.

Kerri has been helping our family for the past two years. Although most of her care has been during the day, some of the most beneficial help happened when my twin babies were born and she assisted with overnight care. Kerri would be with the babies in the family room and feed them, soothe them, and change them as needed, while also helping with housekeeping. This enabled me to get some much needed sleep, so that I could feel recharged for the morning. This also helped the babies get into a great sleep routine, and ultimately helped them sleep through the night sooner. I don't think I would have survived the early months without Kerri's overnight help! Now that our kids are toddlers, Kerri helps us in the daytime and on evenings/weekends. She has been instrumental in assisting our children develop socially, and academically. They are always so excited when Nanny Kerri is here, because she always brings fun and love into their lives. It is an incredible feeling to leave your children with someone who you completely trust to care for them, but who also makes them better people.

We asked Kerri to play a huge role in our wedding by taking care of our 2 year old son for an entire weekend! including the responsibility of getting him dressed in his wedding outfit and bringing him to and from the wedding for the ceremony. Only for us to at the last minute make a major change in the plan for the weekend for her to keep our son at the hotel and not come to the wedding (as it would have been too stressful on my husband and I. She came to the hotel fully equipped with new toys to keep him occupied, a custom made shirt to commemorate the wedding. and packed the hotel room full of our sons favourite snacks. Kerri went above and beyond by also bringing our son to the wedding venue to take a special surprise photoshoot of our son in his custom made tshirt AND his wedding outfit (so we can photoshop him in to the wedding photos). From the minute we dropped him off at Kerri's room, My husband and I were able to be completely stressfree for the entire weekend knowing he was in good hands. He always has a great time with her. Looking forward to our next date night or big event so Kerri and our son can spend more quality time together. We cannot thank Kerri enough for how incredibly helpful and dependable she was. When we picked our son up Sunday morning, and seeing how happy he was just melted our hearts. We are so grateful to have been given Kerri's name from another reference. And would hands down recommend Kerri to any parents who want a dependable, understanding, certified, experienced Nanny to care for their kids. Kerri, from the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU. You helped make our wedding weekend the perfect weekend it was.

Kerri is pure Disney Magic. We first hired Kerri as a night nanny to help us sleep. We instantly felt comfortable with her and knew our son was in good hands. The bonus was Kerri helped him start sleeping through the nights by 3 months as she knew how to train him. She loves working nightshifts but is honest and helps your child sleep train as soon as possible even if it reduces her hours at a faster rate. After the nights were under control we switched to day shifts on a full-time basis. It is important to know that I had an emergency delivery and the trauma of it left me with Post Partum Depression and then cue in Covid-19 a month after we had our son. I can honestly say it was the most difficult year of my life and I wouldn't have made it without Kerri. She knew what I needed and made sure it was always looked after. Kerri always made sure our son was well looked after and helped in develop and learn safety like stairs and water. She even managed to run our household keeping it tidy, beds made, laundry done, pets fed, laundry and folded, dishes put away and garbage out. As if that wasn't more than enough already she would fit in extras like a grocery run or help assemble our sons new toys. She even takes amazing photos I will cherish for a lifetime. She is a true professional and as a testament to her service has now become a friend. I would not hesitate to hire her. Parenting is full of difficult decisions and Kerri will be the best decision you ever make!

We met Kerri through the Canadian Nanny site. I signed up when my son was around 6-7 weeks old when we were desperate to find someone who specifically worked with newborns and who could help provide us the support and relief we were looking for. Our son had CMPA and colic and we were beyond exhausted and tapped out. My first interactions chatting with Kerri were so positive and I could sense she really enjoyed her work. We decided to meet at our home to see if we would be a good fit and there’s been no turning back since. Never had we considered the idea of overnight help. But oh my god, what a lifesaver! Kerri is the perfect mix of easy going and not phased with whatever the situation arises, and at the same time super respectful and professional. It was very clear working with babies and children is Kerri’s profession and passion. We can’t speak enough about how helpful the overnight care was in the first few months - so helpful that we kept Kerri on for overnights way longer than planned and even still haven’t gotten rid of her :) She is a lifesaver for us and we feel total trust and calm when our little guy is in her care. Thank goodness she still fits us in so we can get out for date nights! Kerri is the type of person that comes into your life and home and you grow together. So grateful we met and would not hesitate to recommend her for newborn or baby care. Our son is now 15 months and she is still a lifesaver for us!

Kerri covered for our night doula when she was away on vacation for two weeks. She originally reached out to me when we were looking for full time nanny support for our newborn twins and toddler but she didn’t have the availability we needed; however she seemed so lovely and positive and she asked us to keep her in mind. Kerri absolutely did not have capacity to cover our night doula’s shifts, but knows how crazy this time is and was so accommodating to make it work. Total lifesaver!! She was so kind and left the funniest reports about our twins and most importantly - gave me some much needed sleep. We’ll definitely be looking for more ways to keep Kerri in our lives going forward.

My darling Kerri! You came into my life when I was desperate for sleep and a bit of normalcy. You are so kind, compassionate, funny, logical, caring and fun. Not only do I miss you, but I know the twins must also, and our three-year-old misses his morning stories with you where you got to learn all about Pokémon, which I’m sure you miss too! Thank you for always having a smile on, even when the twins woke up several times a night. You have profound patience and kindness, and I feel blessed to have you in our life for our children and myself.

Started working wit Kerri when my boy was around 6 months - 8 months. She was supportive on our journey from co-sleep to baby in crib in his own room. She's flexible and most importantly, I felt totally comfortable trusting her with my little bundle of joy. She doesn't push any specific way of doing things but is really there to help you with your plans (including making plans if needed). Recommend! If I had my dream situation, she'd be here every night!
