Nanny in Calgary, Alberta

Hello! My name is Sierra, I am bilingual (speaking English and French) with 4 years of Spanish lessons as well. My passion for working with children began when I started babysitting babies and young children in my early teens. From there, I became a certified lifeguard and taught children's swimming lessons for two and a half years. I taught children between the ages of 12 months and 17 years, implemented lesson plans, created games, sang songs, maintained a safe learning environment, and much more. Afterwards, I worked at a local library teaching a reading program for kids in English and French. During my time at the library, I had to create a variety of educational games, lessons, stories, songs and crafts for approx. 10-20 kids per session in both languages. I was solely responsible for my classes and their well-being. I was previously a nanny for 18-month old twins for 1 year. I cooked a variety of meals and assisted in feeding the children, teaching them manners, provide stimulating learning environments/games, driving them to different activities, changing diapers and I also performed housekeeping activities. Since then, I have spent the last year as a Children's Programmer both at Spaceport and most recently at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary, creating engaging and educational programs for children and youth. I am a non-smoker with a valid Class 5 Driver's License and my own vehicle, certified First-Aid/CPR training (plus extensive first-hand experience), and will provide a Criminal Record and/or a Vulnerable Sector Check upon request. I am looking to help a family during the weekday mornings and early afternoons, however, I am open to occasional babysitting on evenings or weekends as well. I currently work from 2:30-6:30pm Mon-Thurs and from 11:30am-6:30pm on Fridays. I can cook meals or provide meal prep, along with laundry, light housework, and shopping if needed. I am open to additional tasks as well. I drive a 4-door, 4x4 Jeep Liberty and am willing to transport children to or from activities as long as mileage is paid. Car seats and additional materials must be provided. I truly enjoy working with children and hope to make it a career for the rest of my life. I'm experienced in planning indoor/outdoor activities, crafts, songs and games for children of all ages, so rest assured the kids will never have a dull moment and minimal screen time. My goal is to always get the kids outside to play once or twice a day (weather permitting of course)!
