We are looking for a full-time live out nanny in central northwest Calgary (Crescent Heights area). The nanny will be taking care of 2 children - ages 6 and 10. Responsibilities will include helping the children get ready for school each morning, preparing their breakfast and lunch, packing their school bags and walking them to and from school. We are looking for someone who is willing to play with the kids and engage them in healthy activities both inside and outside. Also to get to know the families in the community to assist in arranging playdates. You will also need to prepare them for their after school activities (i.e. soccer, swimming, piano etc.) and assist them doing their homework. We are looking for a gentle but firm individual with a sense of fun and humour who understands that dicipline means to teach. When the children are in school full-time from September to June, the nanny will help us maintain the household by washing, ironing and putting away the family's clothes, tidying, picking up, sweeping, cleaning organizing, washing dishes and household projects (i.e. cleaning and wiping down cupboards, sorting and straightening closets, wiping down baseboards, clothes, establishing processes and procedures to ensure that the house remain clean) and occasionally running a few errands. Cooking and meal planning are part of this job. The successful individual must know how to cook wholesome, healthy meals and understand how to plan meals and prepare grocery lists. The successful individual will have 3 years of similar domestic experience, as well as CPR, First Aid, police check and strong written and spoken English. Attributes such as sense of humour, fun loving and wants to play with the kids, high energy, caring, loving, gentle, adaptable, flexible, good judgement, good communication skills and strong planning and organization skills are a plus. Hours are 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday to Friday. The monthly salary is $2400 per month. The individual will also receive at least 20 days of paid vacation per year which must correspond with the family's vacation time. In addition the following general holidays are provided with pay: New Years Day, Alberta Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
