Thank you for taking time to look at my profile. I would be delighted to work with your family, and I believe in a child-centred approach and I believe that children are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. I like to provide even young children with choices about what kinds of activities we might do that day. I love crafts, and went from having a craft bag to a craft suitcase! I aim for a balanced day (for children who are not in school), which includes outdoor play, trips to the local park or the library for story time. If there is an event being held nearby (like Easter egg hunting at the mall), then we can go to that, and I do like to plan bigger trips to museums and local fairs. I am more than happy to do light household cleaning but at the end of the day, your children are the most important people. If you are hiring me for child care, then this is what I will focus on. Of course, it\'s important that myself and children who are capable help in cleaning up messes, but I firmly believe that childcare is my biggest priority. We will clean up after ourselves and I will wash/put away dishes. I will do children's laundry and if you have a Swiffer-like broom, I will happily chase after dog hair! I also want you to know that I respect and value the opinions of your children, and older children definitely get to voice their concerns with me. I have always told school-age children that they can trust me, talk to me, and if they have something heavy they want to talk with YOU about, I will support them 100%. I believe that if something happens during our time together (a sibling fight is a good example), then when you get home, it is with my help and guidance that the child will explain to you what happened, because I believe when children are held to account for what they did, they learn more easily NOT to do it again. I do not drive - by choice. I can get to wherever I need to get to, I can use the bus (or for short trips, a taxi). I would never get into a taxi without using the proper car/baby seat. I value things like mutual respect (no throwing toys at Erin and I in turn will speak calmly with you). I value honesty, and I respect the dignity of your child or children. For example, I would not peek in when a child is having trouble in their newly learned bathroom habits. Unless they needed me, I think they deserve privacy. I have a true passion for hanging out with kids of all ages. They are honest and hilarious! They don't hold grudges, in that they are quick to forgive and forget. Children \"tell it like it is\" and I respect that. Children have an amazing ability for compassion and children are just fun to be around. I love to sing and dance as much as they do!
