Nanny in Guelph, Ontario

I am twenty four years old. I am a graduate of the University of Waterloo. I possess a Bachelor of Arts and a Social Development Studies Degree. I wish to obtain a career in a children and services or in adoption services. I am determined to be a voice for children all over the world. I am currently working at Little Leaners Day Care in Guelph Ontario. I have over eight years of experience with children, ranging from newborn infants to children in grade eight. With this experience I have learned how to handle and care for upset infants and I have learned the tells of an infant. I am capable of changing a diaper and following strict parents’ orders while caring for infants. This past summer, I had the privilege of caring for a nine month old infant boy. The youngest infant I have watched was a two week old infant and the oldest was eleven. One area that I do have a substantial amount of knowledge in is with children who have a disability. I have worked with twin toddlers a few years past and have assisted them with learning the necessary skills of life; eating, talking, walking and intellectual learning as well. More recently I have worked with new born twin infants. I was a part of their close nit family while caring for them. At my current job, I am a toddler teacher and I; - plan, organize, facilitate and document activities to ensure inclusiveness and developmentally appropriate activities. - develop rapport with children, parents, guardians and families - provide a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for children based on Ministry standards - monitor and evaluate children’s social development, physical health and behavior - observe Dynamic Indicators or Basic Early Literacy Skills assessment
