I love children, and take pride and pleasure in helping a home run more smoothly in order to benefit the whole family, especially the children. I make connections with children quickly and with sincerity, and enjoy getting to know their unique personality, laugh, needs, and joys. My experience with children is wide and rich. I began doing paid childcare around age 13 for a family with three children (ages 5, 4, and 1), and throughout my school years had several other babysitting opportunities. For two summers during my high school years, I served as a summer camp counselor at Timberline Ranch, where I worked closely with kids ages 6-15. I spent one summer as a camp coordinator and music teacher for Vancouver Urban Ministries, where I built close relationships with children in the community, worked with families, and organized activities for kids and their families. Besides irregular help with childcare for families in our church, my most recent experience has been for two children: an 8-yr. old girl, and a 3-yr. old boy with autism. There I provided a safe, structured, positive, and fun environment, including transportation and basic housekeeping.
