Nanny in Orangeville, Ontario

I've been with my current family for three years and the youngest is heading to school in September, so I'm looking for a new family to care for! I come from a family of seven. I'm the middle child which led me to be the leader of the younger kids. I've always been fiercely protective of my siblings and I don't take childcare lightly. I keep an eye on everyone at all times and I try to make that time fun and creative. I also love to teach kids new things and to involve them in things that I'm doing. (Ex. cooking and baking they would get to help with measuring and mixing and scooping!) I also knit, cross stitch, paint, and read an enormous amount. Babysitting from age 11 to now (30), tutoring grade one while in high school, and I had trained in babysitting courses, first aid, and cpr, and to be a lifeguard. (All out of date, but willing to renew.) More recently I've mastered the art of negotiating with a 4 year old, 11 year old, and 13 year old. I have a strong mom voice, and a soft heart, I'm not easily manipulated, and if they tell me they are allowed to do something I always check with parents first. I like to have fun, but have the house ready for when the parents come home (no one comes home to a giant mess just because we decided to make slime that day!). I have worked with all ages now, I'm meticulous when it comes to kids health (I've taken the current family to various doctors appts, dentist appts, and keep a watchful eye out for various symptoms of cold, flu, croup, ear infections, etc.) and generally love the way kids minds work. I find them endlessly fascinating!
