Nanny in Aldergrove, British Columbia

My name is Jamie. I'm a 23 year old exotic animal trainer who has nannied for six years. I am fluent in English and French. I graduated highschool in French immersion and in the top two grade point averages of my class. I went on to train "off the track" race horses to put myself through two years of university in Canada, majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry and an interest in English literature and writing. Faced with an uncertain career path, I took a leave from school and dove into what I knew and loved - training. Having just bought a horse of my own, I branched out of the horse industry and started my own dog training business (something I still love and do today). I learned what it truly meant to take initiative and responsibility for something, skills I'm grateful for and continue to grow. This eventually led me to specializing in training North American mammals for films, which is what I do currently. Now, finally to nannying! In my transition out of university I began nannying. I had quickly become the neighborhood babysitter when I was a teenager so this was a natural transition for me. Coming from a training background, I know the incredible role that structure, discipline and nurturing play in childhood growth. I've nannied newborns to twelve year olds including children with Tourette Syndrome and low functioning, non verbal autism. I'm passionate, hard working and enthusiastic about everything I do, but the privilege to be part of the early development of a child is one I can't ever compare. I love my animals and nanny families like my own and am looking forward to being a loving, valuable part of a family, as well as experiencing a part of the world I've never seen!
