Nanny in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hi, potential family matches! I've been watching children from the time I was a young teenager, beginning with assisting my mother, and then babysitting on my own when I was sixteen. Over the years, I've continued to mind children on a part time basis while working in a call centre in my hometown of Sydney, until I moved here in 2009 to obtain my Early Childhood Education diploma, which I completed in 2011. I've had practicums and work experience in several large group child care centres. Over the years I've interacted with children from the ages of newborn to school age. This involved full care, feeding, activities, outings, diapers, toilet learning and clean up. It's helped me focus in on my philosophies and beliefs, which align with natural and attachment parenting; smaller groups and a loving, affectionate, more relaxed and less rushed schedule environment, allowing for both spontaneous and planned activities, as well as unstructured play and exploration. I actually prefer afternoons and evenings, but I'm flexible. Currently, I'm looking for summer employment till August 20th - 24th when the transit schedule changes. I could continue after Sept 8th till the weekend of Hal-Con. I'm also hoping to somehow be able to claim hours for EI as well. Looking forward to hearing from you!
