I always wanted my own children but I finally came to peace with it never happening for me when I realised I could be just like those grandparents who get to lavish them with love and attention and then hand them back. This way I just miss out on those sleepless nights and constant concern for them for the rest of my life! I am now very happy to be the substitute young grandma/godmother figure you might be looking for! As a trained therapist and counsellor and prevention educator, I have counselled and been in a teaching role for many years (empowerment training and Red Cross RespectED programs for grade 7-12) as well as working as a parenting coach. I am calm even in challenging situations, I have a 2 hour daily meditation practice which allows me to be very clear minded about what is important in life. I have done a great deal of direct care for the 8 nephews and nieces and many cousins I helped to raise throughout my life (have relished being the favourite aunt). I have always welcomed the opportunity to work with children whenever possible. I am a great fit in any family. I have worked with many age groups from newborn to teens in various roles. I am used to managing their well being in all ways, feeding, cooking, cleaning, playing with, helping them to sleep, changing diapers or using potties, keeping them safe, and behaviour training as well. The most children I have been responsible for in any one job would have been 5 (as well as children with a variety of special needs and autism). I am looking forward to serving you and your family.
