Nanny in North York, Ontario

Hello! I am a qualified primary school teacher and have 8 years of nanny experience. I am interested in a full time summer position to work as a nanny and at home teacher/assist with at home learning. I am patient, kind and passionate about early childhood education. I completed my undergraduate degree at Western University and currently am pursuing my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about early childhood education and a holistic approach to learning. I believe in integrating learning into everyday situations such as baking, planting a garden, organizing a closet, or planning an outdoor obstacle course. For example: Your child is interested in learning more about their favourite food, spaghetti. We would begin by exploring the background of spaghetti; where it comes from? where it is made? We would create a poster to display all our new knowledge. Then we would research a recipe to make spaghetti. Your child would practice their list writing by writing the recipe. We would discuss the amount of money we would need to buy all the ingredients before going to the grocery store. We would make the dish together; using mathematical skills of measuring, counting and checking temperature. We would create artistic invitations to invite family to our spaghetti dinner! A purposeful authentic experience that brings together the Ontario curriculum and at home activities. I am reliable and responsible that your child's/children's safety always come first. I have a criminal record check, CPR certified and a confident swimmer/lifeguard. I prioritize healthy eating and an active lifestyle so I would love to include your children in creating similar habits! I enjoy cooking/baking and could provide meal preparation. I love activities/games. I can provide lessons in dance, yoga, soccer, basketball, hula-hooping, skipping...really anything I love to try and explore!
