Female Babysitter Located in Scarborough Region While in my final year at Centennial College studying Child and Youth Work, I\'ve decided to take on a babysitting position to further my experience. I am currently offering these skills: - 4 years of child and youth work practices (infancy through adolescence) - Behaviour management - Academic support - Able to create a clean, safe and therapeutic environment - Experience working with children with mental health disabilities Including being a caring, attentive and supportive individual. My experience in childcare and placements through school with infants to school age children include: • Communicate with parents • Keep record of arrival and dismissal of children • Ensure children’s play environment is clean and safe • Maintain infants, toddlers and preschools hygiene • Feeding and putting children to sleep • Supervise and assist children with activities • Lead children in various activities (singing songs) • Assist staff in taking kids on neighbourhood excursions • Documentation of incidents or accidents • Learning and applying behaviour management skills • Constant student supervision • One-on-one support with academics as well as group work • Facilitating group activities and discussions • Assistant in program planning • Support in setting and accomplishing behavioural and academic goals • Build and establish therapeutic relationships through assistance with daily chores/routines, maintaining consistency and using meal preparation as a form of therapy. • Responsibility for various types of documentation including shift overviews, daily logs of resident behaviours, appointments, and client history templates. • Accompany colleagues on various transports including appointments, visits and plan of care meetings. • Organize and implement life skills activities which were essential to child’s basic needs. • Encouraging positive behaviour using the positive reinforcement method.
