Nanny in North York, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
I have always enjoyed working with children from the time I was very young. My friendly personality, experience, and completed education make me a strong candidate for the position as your Nanny. I graduated from Centennial College in 2005 with a diploma in ECE. I have experience working with all ages from various field placements in college, working in day care centres as well as working as a nanny. I interact well with all children and families. As a Nanny I provide the child’s parents with monthly calendars of daily activities as well as a daily report of the child’s day. I also have taught children many things including kindergarten readiness skills, such as shapes, colours, numbers, letters, how to dial 911, learning their name, address and phone number and how to write their name. I also worked with one child who was delayed in walking and I had her walking within the first month I was there. I believe in providing a safe, comfortable and inviting environment for the child. A space where the child can learn, play and grow. An environment that builds the child's self-esteem. Teaching the child problem solving and self-helps skills so that the child can feel independent. A warm and loving environment. I practice positive guidance in which the child is given options and encouraged to make the best choice possible. Guidance is done with verbal cues that promote positive self-esteem. I am very nurturing, warm, gentle, loving, affectionate and fun. I am very patient. I have a small quiet personality which is often handy when dealing with children as sometimes a quiet soothing voice is what they need. On the other hand I can be very fun and energetic and animated. Children love when I read stories and sing songs with them as I make voices and funny facial expressions and actions. I am amazed at how long they can hold their attention when I am doing activities of this nature with them. They are actively engaged. I have a background in musical theatre (singing, acting, dancing) and am very artistic and creative. I enjoy doing arts and crafts in my spare time. Planning music and movement and art activities for children is one of my loves. I love creating activities and experiences for the children that help them learn, explore and grow. I also love to take children on outings to the park, library, drop-in centres, museums, and more. Looking for a family who is looking for something long term (at least a one year commitment or longer). Looking for a family who believes in consistency between nanny and parents, who can work as a team together and who are open to suggestions or advice from my many years in child care. Car seat safety and safe sleep are very important to me and would love a family who feels the same or is open to help in those areas for the safest options for their child as well as being receptive to general safety information if I encounter a safety issue. I am a certified Pediatric sleep consultant and am in the process of starting my business in that area. For this reason, I am looking for a nanny position with part-time hours so on off days or hours I can work on my sleep consulting. I can offer sleep consulting to you as your nanny at a discounted price. I am looking for a position that would preferably be 3 days a week for a total of 20-24 hours a week. I am also a certified child passenger safety tech as car seat safety is very near and dear to my heart and can offer you a free car seat check. I also plan to be certified as a potty training consultant in the near future and am currently training to be a baby sign language instructor. I am looking to line up something for July as my current nanny contracts should be ending around then. I have exceptional reference letters as well as references you can call upon request. I do not drive or own a car but I do have a presto card and use TTC. I am located in the Finch and Victoria Park area so would prefer to find a family as close to me as possible but am willing to commute up to an hour for the right family. Most of my nanny experience has been in East York and I thoroughly LOVE that area, and while it's a commute for me, I am more than happy to work in that area as it offers so many great activities for children. I am fully vaccinated. Looking forward to the possibility of an interview in the near future.

Krystle has been a wonderful nanny. She has been with our family for approximately a year and a half and our now 3 year-old daughter has grown to love her in that time. We are disappointed that we can't have her continue with our family while I am on maternity leave with my second baby. It is obvious from everything that Krystle does that she takes her job and responsibilities seriously and that she truly enjoys working with children. She spends her own time at home to plan daily activities that cover a range of age appropriate developmental milestones which she prepares on a monthly calendar. For example, this month included activities such as cutting and exploring plants to develop fine motor skills and making glitter slime as a science project. Krystle always manages to come up with home-made games and activities that our daughter enjoys more than anything you can buy in a store. For example, she brings home-made printed cards for counting and matching games that my daughter talks about all the time. Krystle is very creative and crafty, which is something I particularly appreciate since this is not a skill that I have! I'm impressed to see the art projects they make together that I frequently come home to. Krystle is respectful of our family's rules and expectations of our daughter, but is also willing to share her own suggestions from her experience with children. Any parent knows their child best, but Krystle has more experience working with children than I do so I value her opinions. I am happy to hear her ideas and we work together to implement them in our family. On a practical note, it is a relief to know that Krystle is reliable and responsible. It's wonderful to not have to worry about whether or not she will arrive in the morning or if she will be late. I know that if she tells me she will be there, I can count on her. It has been a wonderful experience working with Krystle and I can highly recommend her to anyone.

Krystle Aceski was a full time nanny for our son between the ages of 2 and 5. She was always coming up with creative projects for the two of them and ways to keep him interested and learning new things. He loved spending time with her and respected her completely always listening and following her instructions. I'd recommend Krystle's work wholeheartedly.
