Dear Parents, My name is Tyra I was born in 1990, I'm the eldest of four children. I have three brothers. I was fortunate to have my maternal instinct develop at an early age due to being the oldest. Being a girl guide for a year also contributed to building my work ethic foundation when it comes to responsibility, honesty, and being prepared. When I was a child my mother owned successful at home-daycare. Through watching her I learned the value of patience, respect, and how to be a great homemaker. She also instilled in me the confidence I needed to become not only a great caregiver but an efficient leader as well. At the age of 14 I had the esteem privilege of being hired to assist a foster mother take care of six children. This is when I knew I found my calling. For the first time in my life I was able to utilize my natural maternal instincts, and organization skills that were instilled in me by my mother. I was able to stay true the girl guide motto �Be prepared�. Through working with foster children I learned why it takes a village to raise a child. I was able to expand on my communication, and empathy over the two years I worked there. At 16 I had my first official 9-5 job working in the summer with a single mother of two children. This was the first job I had where I was working independently. This job required me to utilize my culinary abilities, and have an outlet for my artistic expression. I also had a boost in my self esteem because it felt good to be paid for something I enjoyed. The following year at 17 I learned the art of perseverance, when I first started working at a daycare. I learned how to prepare toddlers for kindergarten .I was able to put my athleticism to good use in order to inspire children to play sports and fight off childhood obesity. When I turned 18 I was promoted to be a teacher's assistant. I was able to see that hard work does pay off ,and when you take pride in your work it shows. I enrolled in beauty school at 19..... 20 I graduated. I worked professionally in this field for a couple of months. Through hairstyling and aesthetics I learned how to time manage, conduct impeccable costumer service, and how important it is to listen to your clients. It took a year of dabbling in other fields of work to see that my heart is in care giving. As a caregiver in your house hold the services I can offer your family are playing games with your child/children, reading to them, taking them out for outings, concocting healthy meals, helping boost their self esteem, a positive attitude, and light housekeeping.
