Hello! My name is Nana and I am a certified and experienced nanny seeking to impact the life of a family in Toronto, Ontario. I have a lot of experience caring for infants and school age children, and I would love the opportunity to be part of your family. Currently certified by the Canadian Red Cross for babysitting care and First aid/ CPR. Being a young female who has had passion for children since I was little, I became a volunteer teacher in Ghana from 2014. I was responsible for kids from 0 years to 12 years at least once a week for 3 hours in a day and at most 8 to 10 hours in a day. I had a syllabus given by the Head Office of the church by which I taught the kids. It came to me naturally. This syllabus included teaching new songs, stories with good morals and values, arts and crafts and sometimes skills. In my second year in the university while reading my Bachelors in Psychology, I volunteered to work in the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Pediatric ward for a month. I was responsible for bathing the children every morning, with supervision from the nurses, I administer their drugs, getting them ready for school, taking them to the school which was on campus, tidying up the wards, help with administrative duties on the ward, pick them back up from school, feed them and sometimes play with them if there’s extra time. On the ward, some of the children had Down syndrome, schizophrenia, speech and hearing impairment amongst others. It was an eye opening experience for me since I was learning about their conditions in school and had to directly apply the theory of care to them. I have had the chance to run some mentorship programs for teenagers and children too back home. I had to let them understand the reality of growing up and how to deal with being a girl too. From self care during menstruation, personal hygiene, career paths etc. I am available to work on a part-time basis for live-out. In addition to providing quality childcare, I am also available to provide meal preparation services. I am reliable and responsible, and always make sure that the safety and wellbeing of your children is my top priority. I charge $20.0 an hour and I am available to start as soon as possible.
