To me one of life’s most valuable lessons is to learn is its children who are the ones that teach. This is such a rewarding field to work in. I’m a 24 year old student at University of Manitoba finishing my bachelor of science in psychology and computer science. I love travel, painting, just finished my hockey career but am super passionate about sports and coach a youth all girls flag football team. I have spent 6 months being a live-in nanny abroad in London and loved being able to care for and focus on one family, A talent of mine is being able to meet someone no matter what level they’re at, find our connections and build meaningful relationships. I pride myself on my close bonds with all of my students! I have 5 years experience working at a preschool and a schoolage centre (6 months-11 year olds). I have loved working with all age groups, whether it’s a toddler or schoolage kids home for the summer I have experience planning age appropriate sensory, crafting, exploring, food safety, outdoor play, for children. I love to work on grand-scale projects that the children work hard on and have so much pride when we’re finished. (Ex. Learning about space and building Spaceship we can play in using boxes, learning the human body and building an ambulance). I’ve played sports my entire life and am passionate in implementing an active lifestyle in the children I work with in all different ways. I’m a quick learner, adaptable, have the ability to multitask and attend the needs of several different children at once (I’m used to up to 8 preschoolers in my care) and am able to provide as much one on one meaningful time as possible. I have my own vehicle and drivers license, and am able to come to and from your location, as well as possible excursions with the kids, I am open to having car seats installed. I’ve finished child and adolescent development courses. I have experience working individually with children with autism and nonverbal children. I have CPR certifications as well as criminal and child abuse registry background checks.
